Andi: Albie is abusive and father of the baby

MANILA, Philippines – After keeping her silence about her past relationship with actor Albie Casiño, actress Andi Eigenmann dropped a bomb on Sunday when she revealed that her former boyfriend used to abuse her physically and verbally when they were still together.
In an exclusive interview with “The Buzz” aired on Sunday, Eigenmann cried when she recalled how Casiño beat her up when she went to his house and told him about their baby.
“It was not necessarily the day na we found out because we tried and tried to check if it was really confirmed. This was around the time that our friend AJ passed away. Medyo naging cold na po kasi siya sa akin but since I was doing this alone, kailangan ko pa rin po siya kasi siya po ang daddy ng anak ko. Nung time po na iyon, siya ang boyfriend ko. Alam po niya iyon," Eigenmann told "The Buzz" host Boy Abunda.
“I went to his house, pagdating ko pa lang pinapauwi na po niya ako. He doesn’t want to talk to me anymore. He was being mean, verbally abusing me. Because he was verbally abusing me, I slapped him. Because I slapped him, he got mad at me, grabbed me by the collar, hit me against the rock wall in his garage and smacked me eight times until I went down on the floor,” she narrated.
After what happened, Eigenmann Casiño went inside their house to ask his mom to send her home.
“I tried to talk to his mom properly and tell her na ‘Tita please listen to me. He just hurt me.’ Hindi niya po ako pinakinggan. Nung sinabi ko po na binugbog po ako ni Albie, sinabi niya dati tinanong ko na iyan sa iyo,” she said.
Eigenmann shared her mom Jaclyn Jose had once tried to call Casiño’s mom to tell about how he abused her.
“I denied it kasi po nung time na iyon, kami pa po ni Albie at ayaw ko pong mapahamak siya,” she said.
Threats to ruin career
But Eigenmann further revealed that it was not the only time that Casiño had beaten her up.
“He hit me at the Star Magic ball. My friends saw it. He always accuses me of doing things that I don’t do like cheating,” she said.
Aside from this, Eigenmann said Casiño threatened that he will ruin her career.
“When he said on [social networking site] Formspring that I cheated on him with 10 boys because he wanted to deny the fact that he beat me up, I called him right away and asked him why he had to do that. At the beginning he said sorry and that he’s gonna take it back as long as he gets to get an interview," she said.
“Pero binawi niya po tapos sinabi niya na I’m going to lie and lie until I die. ‘I don’t care. You have to be ruined.’ Sisirain niya raw ang career ko. Hindi raw siya papayag na I’d go further. He’s higher than me daw because he was the bida in ‘Mara Clara.’ Those were his last words,” she said.
Eigenmann also revealed that Casiño asked her not to agree to get a DNA test because he would be disowned by his family if they found out.
"I was all game for it but Albie said sorry to me for everything and told me, 'No matter what happens, kahit anong mangyari, huwag kang papayag na magpa-DNA test kay Mama kasi kapag nalaman ni Mama at ni Papa na sa akin siya, idi-disown nila ako and you know how much I love my family,'" she said.
"Tinatawagan po niya ako. Sa akin okay lang. Iyon lang ang hinihintay ko. Mag-sorry ka, own up to your mistakes... Nung nalaman po ni Albie na my parents declined it, wala na. Ganun na po ulit siya," she said.
Eigenmann, however, admitted that there was still a part of her that was hoping that Casiño would call her during her pregnancy.
“Opo [umasa ako]. Not because mahal ko po siya unlike what people think. It was because of my baby. It was because I couldn’t believe na I fell in love with a person na ganun. Ganoon siya ka-heartless. I don’t want to tell Eli that her dad hates her, that her dad wanted her to die. I don’t want to have to do that,” she said.
Eigenmann said Casiño’s family even tried to pay for her hospital bills.
“They never talked to me. All I know is they tried to pay for my hospital bills thinking that if they paid for it, I’d forgive them. I don’t think they know I know that, but I do. If they really want us to be okay, a fruitcake would have been better, not paying for hospital bills. What do they think I look like? A gold digger? I work for myself,” she said.
No regrets
Despite all that has happened, Eigenmann told Abunda that she does not regret having loved Casiño because he is still the father of her baby.
“Kung hindi ko po siya minahal, wala po si Eli. And even if Eli is his, I wouldn’t want to have my life any other way. I don’t care, I don’t have any regrets because we were happy too once. He was my best friend. I don’t regret the fact that I fell in love with him. I just wonder what happened to him,” she said.
Asked if she has already moved on, Eigenmann said: “Everyone who doesn’t like me thinks that I’m this way because I haven’t moved one up to now. Tito Boy I had a boyfriend while I was pregnant. Someone else owned up to it.
“Sana po maintindihan po nila ako. I’m not saying that Albie is a bad person. I just wanted to finally for once tell the truth,” she said.
Eigenmann also said her heart only has one prayer after everything that happened.
“Sana po tumigil na po sila. Wala po akong ginagawa sa kanila. Lahat po ng mga nangyari sa akin, nangyari dahil sa kung paano nila ako trinato. My only prayer is that they’d learn to understand that this should just be left, be over. If they don’t want to meet Eli, if they don’t want to ever accept Eli as part of their family, so be it. But that doesn’t mean that they have to ruin me also,” she said.
Eigenmman said every time she sees Casiño “I’ll never forget what he did to me. That's how much damaged he caused.”

Mon Tulfo and Raymart fight with Baretto Sisters

MANILA, Philippines – Actor Raymart Santiago and journalist Mon Tulfo got into a fist fight Sunday afternoon at the arrival area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
In an interview with dzMM, Tulfo said he just arrived from Davao onboard a Cebu Pacific flight when he saw a familiar face at the arrival area reprimanding a flight attendant.

“Nasa arrival area na ako, palabas na ako ng arrival area tapos may napansin akong magandang babae. Namumukhaan ko, maganda siya eh. Hindi ko naman siya nakilala. Pinagalitan ang ground stewardess ng Cebu Pacific,” he said.

Tulfo said he later on recognized that it was Santiago’s wife, actress Claudine Barretto, who was scolding the airport staff.

“Nag-sympathize ako sa kanya dahil sabi ko, tingnan mo nga naman itong Cebu Pacific bakit naman ganooon. Marami na kasing insidente itong Cebu Pacific naging inefficient sa cargo ng mga pasahero. Kaya sabi ko buti nga,” he said.
Tulfo said he then decided to take a photo of Barretto through his camera when he heard that Barretto was already cursing the stewardess.

“Noong nakita ko na minumura na niya ang pobreng babae na mangiyak-ngiyak, ipatatanggal daw niya sa trabaho, kinunan ko ng litrato ng cellphone. Gusto ko sanang sabihin na ‘Cool ka lang, iyan namang babae, wala namang kasalanang personal sa iyo bakit mo naman minumura,’” he said.

Tulfo, however, said he was caught off guard after Santiago approached him and was forcefully trying to grab his cellphone.

“Noong nilagay ko ang cellphone ko sa vest ko... nakita nung si Raymart Santiago. Pilit niyang kinukuha ang cellphone ko. Sabi niya, ‘Bakit ka kumukuha?’ Magpapakilala sana ako kaya lang nung pilit na niyang kinukuha ang cellphone ko, tinulak ko siya sabi ko wala kang karapatan na kunin ang cellphone ko. Doon nag-umpisa ang kaguluhan,” he said.
Tulfo said several people approached him and a punch landed on his face that’s why he decided to fight back.
“Habang sinasangga ko ang mga suntok nila dahil marami sila, minumura pa ako. Ako na ang binalingan ni Claudine Barretto ng galit niya. Minumura mura na ako. Tinamaan ako eh. Noong tinamaan ako sa may mata, nagdilim na ang paningin ko,” he said.

Tulfo said it took a while before airport authorities responded to stop the brawl.
Airport authorities are currently conducting an investigation over the incident.

Avengers scores No. 2 opening day with $80.5M

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lots of superheroes add up to lots of money for "The Avengers."
The film featuring a team of Marvel Comics heroes pulled in $80.5 million in its domestic debut Friday, the second-best haul ever on opening day.
"The Avengers" trails only last year's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," which took in $91.1 million in its first day on the way to a record weekend of $169.2 million.
The huge opening for "The Avengers" launches what's expected to be a colossal summer for Hollywood, whose domestic revenues already were running 14 percent ahead of last year's going into the weekend.
Summer season began a year ago with the Marvel Comicsadventure "Thor," one of the solo superhero sagas that led to "The Avengers." ''Thor" earned a respectable $65.7 million for the entire weekend, while "The Avengers" brought in far more than that in a single day.
The superhero summer continues through July with two more blockbusters in the making: "The Amazing Spider-Man" and "The Dark Knight Rises."
Produced by Disney's Marvel Studios unit, "The Avengers" already is more than halfway toward beating the opening weekends of the second and third films on the debut charts.
At No. 2 is "The Dark Knight" with $158.4 million in its first three days, while this spring's blockbuster "The Hunger Games" is No. 3 with $152.5 million.
"The Avengers" opened a week earlier in many overseas markets, where it has pulled in blockbuster cash in a matter of days. The film added $30.3 million internationally Friday, bringing its overseas haul to $334.3 million. Adding in its first-day domestic receipts, "The Avengers" has climbed to a worldwide total of $414.8 million.
Directed by Joss Whedon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), "The Avengers" stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.
Samuel L. Jackson plays Nick Fury, the superhero recruiter who teams them up to fight off an invasion of Earth plotted by Thor's wicked brother (Tom Hiddleston).

Army officer dies in Skype chat with wife

HOUSTON (AP) — The wife of an Army officer serving in Afghanistan witnessed her husband's death as the two video chatted via Skype, his family said Friday.
The circumstances of Capt. Bruce Kevin Clark's death were not immediately available. The Pentagon said it was under investigation, and his brother-in-law said he didn't have details.
"We are entrusting the military with investigating and with finding out what happened to Capt. Clark," Bradley Taber-Thomas told The Associated Press.
Clark, a 43-year-old Army chief nurse, grew up in Michigan and lived previously in Spencerport, N.Y., a suburb of Rochester and his wife's hometown. He joined the Army in 2006 and was stationed in Hawaii before he was assigned to the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso. He deployed to Afghanistan in March.

A statement from the family released by Taber-Thomas said Clark died Monday while talking to his wife during one of their regular Skype sessions.
"At the time of the incident, the family was hoping for a rescue and miracle, but later learned that it was not to be," the statement said. "Although the circumstances were unimaginable, Bruce's wife and extended family will be forever thankful that he and his wife were together in his last moments."
Clark's body was returned Thursday to Dover Air Force Base.

A funeral is planned in Spencerport, but details were not immediately available. Clark and his wife, Susan Orellana-Clark, moved there in 2000. While living there, he worked for about four years at Highland Hospital in Rochester, N.Y., first as an operating room assistant then operating room technician.
"He was a friendly guy, always joking, always picking on me because of my (British) accent," said Ellie Villanueva, a nurse who worked with Clark at the hospital and kept in touch with him after he left. They spoke a few days before his death, and he talked about coming for a visit. "After work, we would all go out. It was like a family. He was my son."
Clark was an EMT before he worked at the hospital. He went on to earn his nursing degree and planned to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist, Villanueva said.
"He was always willing and always wanting to better himself," she said.
Military records show Clark finished his nursing degree before joining the military in 2006.
He received a number of awards and decorations for his service.
"When you were in Bruce's presence it was apparent he served a higher purpose," the family's statement said. "He was deeply honored to serve his country, and he paid the ultimate sacrifice to serve people, his children, family, community, and church."
A memorial service also was planned in Addison, Mich., where Clark graduated from high school.
Villanueva said the delay in releasing the cause of Clark's death was difficult on those who knew him.
"Why is it taking so long? It's odd," she said. "It's a real shame."
Clark is survived by his wife and two daughters, age 3 and 9, he said.

Albie Casino Beaten Up by Frank Magalona & 3 Others

MANILA, Philippines – Young actor Albie Casiño was allegedly attacked by friends of his former flame, actress Andi Eigenmann, during their recent encounter at a bar in Makati City.

Rina Casiño, Albie’s mother, told ABS-CBNnews.com that her son came face to face with Eigenmann on Friday night at Fiamma, which led to an aggressive confrontation. Rina, who was in Subic at the time, was alerted about the incident by her brother Allee Lee and Albie’s road manager.

According to her, Eigenmann “splashed wine on his (Albie’s) face and slapped him.” Rina said Albie opted to “clean himself up in the restroom” and leave the venue to avoid worsening the situation. She said, however, that Albie and his friend were followed to the bar’s parking lot by Eigenmann’s companions, a move that she called “planned and premeditated.”

Rina identified Eigenmann’s friends as Frank Magalona, Carlos Concepcion, a certain Lacson and a certain Arce. Albie was allegedly hit on the head with a wine bottle. Moments later, the bar’s bouncer was able to stop the commotion, Rina said.

The actor is now resting after going through a CT scan and other medical tests at the Makati Medical Center. Rina said they have yet to find out if Albie sustained serious injuries from the alleged clash with Eigenmann’s group. Their family has yet to file a blotter report, but is planning to file charges against those involved, Rina said.

Albie is said to be the father of Eigenmann’s daughter, Adrianna Gabrielle. Star Magic, the talent management firm handling Eigenmann, is now conferring with her family to issue a statement on the incident.

In an official statement sent to ABS-CBNnews.com on Saturday, Eigenmann admitted to allegations made by Albie’s mother Rina Casiño that she (Eigenmann) “splashed wine on his face,” but asserted that she had nothing to do with her alleged companions assaulting Albie. “It was my first time seeing him face to face. He gave me a bad look and I felt really bad. I thought I have moved on but because of the incident wounds of the past came back,” Eigenmann said, recounting her estrangement with Albie over her controversial pregnancy. “I admit that out of impulse, I threw wine on his face, and the next thing I heard was he was being beaten up outside,” she added.

In an earlier interview with ABS-CBNnews.com, Albie's mother said four men, allegedly Eigenmann’s friends – Frank Magalona, Carlos Concepcion, Jeck-Jeck Lacson and Neil Arce – assaulted Albie at the parking lot of Fiamma. “I ran up to ask him how he was. By his reaction and the way he was cursing at me, it seemed he readily thought I had something to do with it,” Eigenmann said.

The “Agua” star added that she felt it was “acceptable” to be pointed as an instigator of the fight, but maintained that she hadn’t known of any plans to attack Albie. “I was inside when it happened. I believe it should be acceptable for him to accuse me of such a thing, but I honestly don’t have anything to do with it,” Eigenmann said.

Priest admits being married to a Filipina

A Catholic priest in Australia has made a controversial revelation: he has been married to a Filipina for a year now.

Father Kevin Lee, a priest for 20 years in Glenmore Park, Sydney, admits "living a double life" with his wife Josephina, whom he met in the Philippines.

“So I've fallen in love and I've got married and it's outside of most people's awareness, but I'm sure people within the church could have had a suspicion,” Lee told 7News.

The Australian priest claimed that there are many others like him and that he pitied those “sacrificing” priests around the world who are denying themselves a relationship.

“That's one of the reasons that motivated me to make public my admission that I'm one of those people who's been a pretender: To draw to the attention of the public that there are more like me, in fact most of them,” Lee was quoted as saying.

“I feel sorry for them, I really do, but I think they need to admit they are not being led properly. I think celibacy has to go as a prerequisite for being a minister in the Catholic religion,” he added.

While urging for the abolition of celibacy, Lee also plans to write a book about what he believes is the wider wrongdoing of fellow priests.

Tanning booth mom calls arrest for taking daughter, 5, a misunderstanding; ‘It was a sunburn,’ dad says

A New Jersey woman arrested for allegedly putting her 5-year-old daughter in a tanning booth says it was all a big misunderstanding.
Patricia Krentcil, 44, told NBC's local New York affiliate that she took her daughter with her to a local tanning salon but that the child was not exposed to the booth's synthetic UV rays.
"I tan, she doesn't tan," Krentcil said. "I'm in the booth, she's in the room. That's all there is to it."
Krentcil, of Nutley, N.J., was arrested last week, and charged Tuesday with felony child endangerment. She was released on a $25,000 bond and is due in court Wednesday.
"It's like taking your daughter to go food shopping," Krentcil said. "There's tons of moms that bring their children in."
Police, though, say Krentcil put her daughter in an upright tanning booth.
New Jersey state law prohibits children under the age of 14 from tanning booths. Children between the ages of 14 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Police were alerted by school officials, who say Krentcil's daughter showed up for school with what appeared to be a sunburn, then told classmates she "went tanning with Mommy."
Rich Krentcil, the girl's father, told NBC the teacher misinterpreted his daughter.
"This whole big thing happened, and everyone got involved," he said. "It was 85 degrees outside, she got sunburned. That's it. That's all that happened."

Australian Billionaire Plans to Build Titanic II to Set Sail in 2016

Australian businessman Clive Palmer has announced his plans to create a replica of the Titanic. Palmer is collaborating with the Chinese company CSC Jinling Shipyard to create what he is calling the Titanic II. In addition, Palmer's new ship is going to re-create the voyage of the original Titanic as it set sail from England to New York in 1912.
Palmer says the new ship will be "as luxurious as the original Titanic," adding that Titanic II will be equipped with "state-of-the-art 21st-century technology and the latest navigation and safety systems." His vessel will have identical dimensions to its predecessor, and will feature nine decks, 840 rooms, gymnasiums, swimming pools, libraries, and restaurants. Other improvements to the ship include greater fuel efficiency and diesel generation, and an enlarged rudder and bow thrusters for improved maneuverability.
When news of Palmer's new creation began circulating, Tumblr and Twitter buzzed with people's reactions. In just 36 hours, "Titanic II" had been mentioned 34,000 times, and a new meme was born. There are countless parodies and digitally altered images like the one using the original movie poster and the tag line, "Jack is back." On Twitter, "Titanic II" was trending with a slew of tweets mocking Palmer's idea. One person tweeted, "Luckily there probably won't be any icebergs left by then." The original Titanic sank on April 15, 1912, after colliding with an iceberg, and more than 1,500 people died.
When asked if the ship could sink, Palmer responded, "Of course it will sink if you put a hole in it." He then added, "It is going to be designed so it won't sink."
In case you are reading this and you want to set sail on Titanic II, you'll have to wait a while. The maiden voyage is not scheduled until 2016.

Italy Scientists Say They Have Found Oldest Human Blood

ROME, Italy - Scientists examining the remains of "Otzi," Italy's prehistoric iceman who roamed the Alps some 5,300 years ago, said on Wednesday they have isolated what are believed to be the oldest traces of human blood ever found.
The German and Italian scientists said they used an atomic force microscope to examine tissue sections from a wound caused by an arrow that killed the Copper Age man, who was found frozen in a glacier, and from a laceration on his right hand.

"They really looked similar to modern-day blood samples," said Professor Albert Zink, 46, the German head of the Institute for Mummies and the Iceman at the European Academy in Bolzano, the capital of Italy's German-speaking Alto-Adige region.

"So far, this is the clearest evidence of the oldest blood cells," he said by telephone, adding that the new technique might now be used to examine mummies from Egypt.
The studies were carried out in conjunction with the Center for Smart Interfaces at Darmstadt Technical University in Germany and the Center for Nano Sciences in Munich.
Over the last two decades, scientists have collected data from the stomach, bowels and teeth of the well-preserved man, who was found protruding out of a glacier by German climbers in 1991 in the Tyrolean Alps on the Austrian-Italian border.

Otzi, whose nickname derives from the German word for the area where he was found, had brown hair and type-O blood and was believed to be 45 when he was felled by an arrow while climbing the high mountains some 5,300 years ago.

The nanotechnology instrument used by Zink and his team scans the surface of the tissue sections using a very fine probe, the scientists said in a summary of their report.
As the probe moves over the surface, sensors measure every tiny deflection of the probe, line by line and point by point, building up a three-dimensional image.
Red doughnut cells

Zink, an anthropologist, said the red blood cells his team found had a classic doughnut shape seen in healthy people today.
"It is very interesting to see that the red blood cells can last for such a long time," he said.
"This will also open up possibilities for forensic science and may help lead to a more precise determination of the age of blood spots in crime investigations," he added.

Earlier this year, the scientists made the first complete genome-sequencing on Otzi, determining that the man had a predisposition for cardiovascular diseases and brown eyes that betrayed possible near-Eastern origins.
Otzi had lactose intolerance that was common among Neolithic agrarian societies and was also the first-known carrier of Lyme disease, a bacterial infection spread by ticks.
Examination of the wound where the arrow entered Otzi's back identified fibrin, a protein involved in the clotting of blood, a summary of the report said.

Because fibrin is present in fresh wounds and then decays, this appears to show that the hunter died quickly rather than after a few days as had been previously thought, it said.
Zink carried out his research with Marek Janko and Robert Stark, professors of material sciences at the Center for Nano Sciences in Munich and Italian colleagues in Bolzano.

To be certain that the specimens they were examining were blood and not pollen, the scientists used a second analytical method known as the Raman spectroscopy method.
In that method, a laser beam illuminates a tissue sample and analysis of the spectrum of the scattered light permits the identification of various molecules.

Zink said he and his colleagues hope to carry out further analysis on Otzi's enzymes, proteins and immune system.
"We hope we can make good progress in this area too," he said.
The complete results will be published by Britain's Journal of the Royal Society Interface.
